ACS Presents The McDermott All American Tour Results from Katrina Survivors BenefitThe twentieth stop of the 2005/2006 McDermott All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) featured a $500-added purse and thirty-two players hosted by the Gulf Coast Billiards Association of Jackson County at Miss-A-Bama Country Palace in Moss Point, Mississippi, on Saturday, April 15. The event featured double-elimination 8-ball on 7-foot Valley bar boxes. Todd West marched undefeated through the winner’s bracket, defeating Bob Walker in the winner’s bracket semi-finals and Mike Jones in the finals. In the B-side round of eight, David Nelson defeated Ralph West. David Nelson beat Joey Knight, leaving Joey in fourth. David and Mike played to have the right to play Todd in the final. Mike Jones was the winner, setting up a rematch with Todd West. Jones would have to beat Todd two sets. With quality shooting skills, Mike was successful in winning both sets to claim the title!
By virtue of being the highest-finishing ACS member, Kavin Woodward was the winner of the ACS National 8-Ball Championships – courtesy of the ACS. A McDermott Harley Davidson Cue was collected by Dennis Waltman. Mike Sisk was the winner of the Budweiser pool table light donated by Budweiser2006. McDermott Cue representatives Claude Napier and Link Pendley made a special appearance and were presented with a special “Traveling Trophy”.
