BCA Board of Directors UpdateElections conclude, Committee volunteers soughtColorado Springs, Colorado: The Billiard Congress of America [BCA] released the official results of its 2006 Board of Directors elections, following its general membership meeting at the International Billiard & Home Recreation Expo in Houston last week. Five seats were open in the voting category of the administrative group. A ballot issued earlier in the year had contained a slate of eleven hopefuls for the five open slots. From the votes cast, newly or re-elected board members to accept three-year terms were: Mike Baggett (Cue & Case Sales), Kathy Etheridge (Showcase Billiards), Bob Radford (Antique Billiard Supply) and Eric Weber (CueStix International). Sean Cummings (Brunswick) will serve a two-year term.
Both Mike Baggett and Eric Weber extended current terms with re-appointments to the board, while Kathy Etheridge kept it “all in the family” by picking up where Clay Etheridge left off, following his lengthy term of service. Former board member Bob Radford re-claimed a seat, and Sean Cummings will begin learning the ropes as a newcomer in his first term. In a brief follow-up session, Gregg Hovey was elected to a second one-year term as BCA Board President, along with remaining seated officers: First Vice President Mike Baggett, Treasurer Pat Conners, and Secretary Reneé Poehlman, plus the new appointment of Ivan Lee to the Second Vice President slot. Mr. Hovey was first elected to the board in 2003 and served as First Vice President and Chair of the Long Range Planning Committee before taking the gavel last year. He will now begin the task of naming BCA committee chairs and appointing committee members for the coming year. Call for Committee Members! Committee membership is also open to those not currently serving on the BCA Board of Directors. If you are interested in being named to a committee, please send an email to BCA Executive Director Stephen Ducoff by Friday, April 21, 2006.
