Held March 5, the field funneled by way of skill level into three separate events. The tour tailors straight pool in this fashion so more players can enjoy playing at their respective levels.Professional / A In the Pro/A exposition, Danny Barouty was sly enough to outwit the field of 7-player field. Jonathan Smith was down 130-121 in a semifinals race to 150 against Jimmy Gottier. Gottier ran 16 to get stuck in the pack and had to play it safe at 146. Smith found a difficult shot, pocketed the ball, and then went on to run out the last 27 balls to win the match. The finals saw Smith miss a shot that would have forced the extended race. Barouty needed 52 to win the match. Hoping Barouty would hit a snag, all Smith had to do was make one more ball. Barouty, against all odds, ran out the 52 balls to cut Smith from the thread he was hanging on and placed first.

Yednak also won the $50 payout for being the first person in his division to run 40 balls. "I wish there were more straight pool tournaments so that I could better my game," Yednak stated. Dan Chapman jettisoned out in front of Rafael Cabrera and stayed ahead to win the semifinals 100-87. In the finals it looked like Chapman was poised to continue his winning ways taking a large 50 ball lead ahead of Yednak. Chapman reached 93 and had to play a safety. Yednak found a key shot to start his launch towards the finish with. Mark Sherrill made his way to the hot seat match undefeated. He met Kamran Jehle there and beat him 70- 42 to grab a spot in the finals. In the semifinals, Jehle played great against Charles Bromley Jr. Running 35 balls during the game, Jehle won the $50 for the first 25-ball-run, thus winning the match. Jehle’s game continued to go well as he reached 70 balls in the finals. Sherrill kept on his heals but Jehle went out ahead and won the set 90-69. Jehle, just 16 years old, was asked how it felt to win his first straight pool tournament, He replied, "It feels great. Mark played great also … he put me on the one-loss side.
