Barrett Takes Win in North FloridaKBP Adrenaline North Florida Amateur 9-Ball Tour / Jacksonville, FLby Kay HigginsThe premiere poolroom of Bankshots Billiards in Jacksonville, FL, hosted the sixth stop for the KBP Adrenaline North Florida Amateur 9-Ball Tour April 9, 2006. Lots of new faces joined the tour, but it was Ramsey Barrett, local area player and a regular on the tour for several years, who took home the first-place spot and double points.Barrett was up against some tough competition during the day on the bottom half of the bracket facing other regular tour players Trevor Moore, John Tatum, Thomas Mittnight, and some new faces to reach the hot seat match. While Barrett was on the bottom half, Tony Plescia was on the top, working his way through players Tim Carter, Johnny Reeves, and Les Woods to come face-to-face with Barrett to see who would be king of the hill. The battle was not an easy one, and the games switched back and forth until Barrett took the match with a 7-6 win.
Matt Bauries and Tatum faced off for fourth place, where Tatum was halted in his tracks. Plescia faced Bauries in the semifinals, and even though the fight was good, Plescia was left in third while Bauries advanced to the finals. In an exciting match-up, Bauries faced Barrett in a final race to 9. Barrett took the lead, and the shots both players made showed that they deserved to be battling it out. With the lead, Barrett kept control and took home the win 9-7.Results:1st Ramsey Barrett2nd Matt Bauries3rd Tony Plescia4th John Tatum5th Thomas MittnightLes Woods Visit Inside POOL Magazine for the latest news from the sport of billiards and pool.
