Daniels Squeaks out a WinKBP Central Florida Billiards Tour / Longwood, FLby Rick Davis, Inside POOL MagazineA strong field of tour regulars came in search of glory at the KBP Central Florida Tour, and it was Tim Daniels who survived the onslaught to claim his first tour victory. Taking place at Fast Break Billiards in Longwood, FL, the twelfth tour stop had 38 entries in the double-elimination event. Daniels quickly found his way to the hot seat match, where he defeated Richard Murray 7-2. Meanwhile, a story was unfolding on the one-loss, where Gail Grecar mounted a comeback after being defeated by Daniels earlier. In the quarterfinal match, she plowed through Jim Sandaler and then quickly moved on to Richard Murray, whom she eliminated 5-3 to reach the finals.
The match between Grecar and Daniels was a hair-pulling battle, as neither could take the lead. Only once was there a two-rack difference, and it didn’t last long. After two hours, Daniels managed to take the final game for the double-hill win as the only player in the field not to feel the wrath of Grecar.Results:1st Tim Daniels2nd Gail Grecar3rd Richard Murray4th Jim Sandaler5th Robert NoonBen Villaneau7th Julio del PosoTrevor Moore
