Pechauer New England A/B Series 9-Ball Tour dropped into World Championship Billiards of Manchester, CT. The stop hosted a field of 22, and spewed out a $1,000 purse. During the hot seat match Chuck Altomare faced Fernandez. This match was the slump that Fernandez had to bounce back from. With little effort at all Altomare put Fernandez away 7-2. The quarterfinals saw Kevin Giumond tip off with Luis Rios. These guys played their hearts out as they pumped the match to 13 games. Giumond came out victor, winning the match 7-6. Giumond and Fernandez put their dukes up in the semifinals. Ready to erase history, Fernandez made up for his falter when he filleted Giumond 7-5.
This was an awesome comeback for Fernandez and he capped his performance justly upon battling Altomare in the finals. A fog of tension fell upon this match as the two took their competition to a lengthy 18 games.
