Friday Night at the WPBA U.S. OpenBy InsidePOOL StaffShort of a couple of surprises at the WPBA U.S. Open, being held at the Sandia Casino in Albuquerque, NM, the event is rolling right along.  The final match is planned for Sunday at 5 p.m., with the final four beginning at 1 p.m. for the televised matches.In the winners’ side matches this evening, Ming “The Empress” Ng came back from a 5-1 deficit against number five-ranked Vivian Villareal to make it 7-6 Villareal.  She scored a 2-9 combo to even the score and then took the hill after her opponent missed the 8 ball.  “The Texas Tornado” made it a hill-hill match after Ng missed the 3, but then she scratched o­n her last break.  Ng, ranked 24 in the WPBA, rattled the 5 ball, but Villareal then scratched o­n the 7, leaving an easy out for Ng.
In another upset, the number-nine ranked Ga Young Kim, who was the runner-up at this event last year to Karen Corr, matched up with Visit InsidePOOL for the latest news from the WPBA US Open.
