Labonte Finds Victory Around the Bend on the J. Pechauer New England A/B 9-Ball Tourby Matthew Pingor Chelmsford, MA - Randy Labonte was unstoppable March 11-12 as the J. Pechauer New England A/B 9-Ball tour parked at Country Club USA of Chelmsford, MA. Lighting the fire that propelled Labonte above the 52-player field was a total purse of $2,000. In the hot seat match, Labonte made a spot in the finals a realty when he surpassed Ray Mack 7-1 in a one sided match. Luis Rios was busy with Sam Franzi in the quarterfinals. These two sparred, trading games for a while, before Franzi knocked Rios out 6-4. The semifinals saw the same outcome as the quarterfinals. Franzi, on a roll, retired Mack 6-4 to advance to the finals.
In the finals, Franzi approached the eager Labonte. Franzi tried hard and held on well as he snapped in two 9 balls in a row.
