McCreesh Takes Joss OpenerJoss Northeast 9-Ball Tour / Drexel Hill, PAby Rick Davis, Inside POOL MagazineBilliards player Ryan McCreesh could not be touched as he made his way through the Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour’s season opener October 8. Taking place at the Drexeline Billiard Club in Drexel Hill, PA, the area’s top talent gathered for the $2,000-added event.
Tour director Mike Zuglan joined McCreesh as masters of the winners’ bracket as they met in the hot seat match. McCreesh was able to string several racks together, which was too much weight for Zuglan to bear, and he was nudged into the one-loss side by McCreesh 9-4.West side action saw Billy Kirshner await Jerry Slivka, who had just eliminated Dave Abraham 9-4. Slivka showed Kirshner the door as well, defeating him 9-5. None of the later matches seemed to get close, and with Zuglan eager to face McCreesh again, he kept the tradition running by eliminating Slivka 9-5. The finals unfolded as the rematch between McCreesh and Zuglan after his brief visit to the one-loss side.
