Murnak Captures Second Victory of the YearBy InsidePOOL StaffThe Tri-State Tour's semi-annual large entry fee event took place on April 16-17 at Amsterdam Billiards and Bar in New York City. The event featured a strong field of 26 players, including James Murnak, who has already chalked up a win on tour this yearEarly on, Murnak established himself as a contender, as he played consistently tough to reach the hot seat match, including a hill-hill decision over Bieto Perez. His hot seat opponent was David Faust, who was also playing well in the two-day event. But Faust was unable to stop Murnak's momentum, leaving him to take his game to the semifinals to face Perez. Perez had been playing strong since being sent to the left bracket, ousting three straight opponents to reach the semis. And he made it four in a row by sending Faust home in third place. In the finals, though, Perez once again became a victim of Murnak, falling 6-1. For Murnak, though, it was his second tour win of the year.Results:1st James Murnak 2nd Beito Perez 3rd David Faust 4th Nelson Marte 5th Ken Kerner, Michael O'Connor 7th Dan Chapman, Mhet Vergara9th Ed Rodriguez, Eddie Medina, Chris Peralta, Tony Eglasias Visit InsidePOOL for the latest news from the Tri-State Tour.
