Player Field Bows at Siljee’s Feet on he Tri-State 9-Ball Tourby Matthew Pingor Clifton, NJ, was brimming with cue sport wisdom as Clifton Billiards hosted the Tri-State 9-Ball Tour, March 11. The $500-added event drew a field of 19 players, 18 of whom fell victim to Jerry Siljee. The road to first place was rocky for Siljee. In the hot seat match Carl Yusuf Kahn bested him 7-1. That sent Siljee to battle in on the dark side. The quarterfinals provided the route for Siljee to return upon. Facing Matt Dafton, Siljee played cautiously before grabbing the match 7-5. During the semifinals, Siljee was introduced to Iliyu Trajceski. Both players showed an equally yoked skill level as they pawned games back and forth. Siljee, ready to show off in the finals, ended Trajceski 7-6.
Kahn was waiting for Siljee in the finals. Evidently, Siljee was ready for him. This stint was clearly one-sided, since Siljee had no problem icing Kahn 7-2, to win the event.
