SML Entertainment's 9-Ball Championship Kicks Off TodayThe SML Entertainment's 9-Ball Championships, being held at the Olympic Oval in Calgary, Alberta, kicks off today and will run through April 23.  The five-day major event features some of the game's greatest players, including current world 9-ball champion Alex "The Lion" Pagulayan.The 120-player field also includes Danny Basavich, Johnny Archer, Corey Deuel, Earl Strickland, and Canadians Luc Salvas and Edwin Montal.  "We are very pleased to have so many top-ranked nine-players competing in our event," said Dean Fisher, marketing director for SML Entertainment, a Calgary-based business that is recognized as Western Canada's premier supplier of entertainment products.The field will be competing for over $35,000 in prize money, and Fisher says that should fuel some exciting competition.  ""With so many great players here, it's going to be a battle for a winner to emerge and claim the ten thousand dollars in top prize money."  Fisher also noted that for the first time there is $1,000 prize being awarded by Stix Billiards for the top finishing Calgary-based 9-ball player.  Through its 13 offices in British Columbia., Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Mexico, SML provides a variety of entertainment products that include pool accessories, air hockey games, foosball games, coin-operated pool tables and games, arcade and  pinball machines, jukeboxes, home pool tables, shuffle boards and game-room furniture.  Visit InsidePOOL for the latest news in the sport of billiards and pool.
