Team 8-Ball Underway in ontarioBy Denise BelangerThe Canadian Women's Pool Tour kicked off its 8-ball season at Raxx Billiards in Brampton, ontario, on November 6.  The tour, in which teams consisting of three ladies compete against one another, is in its first year and hopes are high that it will be a success.Six teams competed in the inaugural event, with "Pandora's Box" earning the first-place prize.  The team of Leslie Pasieka, Jackie Summers and Krista Walsh, who have a combined handicap of 24, were definitely a force to reckon with.In their first match, they faced "Chix with Stix" and won 4-0, followed by another 4-0 shutout of "All Break No Balls."  "Pandora's Box" kept themselves grooving by defeating "Kraft Dinner Deluxe" 3-1.  "Kraft Dinner Deluxe," which consisted of Karen Summers, Denise Belanger, and Diana Yeoman, entered their final match against "Chix with Stix" tied with "Pandora's Box" in points and needed to win the match to keep pace.  However, they fell 3-1 and had to hope that "SBS Crew" could do the same against "Pandora's Box."  The ladies of "Pandora's Box" took on the challenge and won 3-1 to claim the first-place prize.  With all the hype between "Pandora's Box" and "Chix with Stix," Cindy Bristow, Laurie Patrick, and Karen Willmott of "Casino Queens" were able to lay low and sneak up on the front-runners.  With their 4-0 win over "All Break No Balls," they jumped ahead of "Chix with Stix" and claimed second place.Throughout the season, the teams will be competing for a grand prize of a trip to Las Vegas for the International Championships in May.  Results:1st Place Pandora's Box $540.00 2nd Place - Casino Queens $355.00   Visit InsidePOOL for the latest news from the sport of billiards and pool.
