World Champion Pagulayan in Kelowna
Alex Pagulayan, the Nine Ball World Champion in 2004, has announced his entry into the Stan James Canadian National Nine Ball Tour this weekend. He joins current Canadian National Champion (and Kelowna resident) Brady Gollan in what is being called the strongest field of players to assemble in Western Canada in many years. From Friday, February 16 through Sunday the 18th professional cueists from throughout Canada will gather and compete at Breakers Billiards and Bistro on Dilworth Drive (contact there is Russ Acton at 250-762-6033).
The Stan James Tour is the only professional tour in Canada that invites all professionals to compete not only for prize monies but also for tour points that accrue throughout the tournament year and earn players their entries into WPA (World Pool Association) events such as the World Nine Ball Championships in Manila, the World Cup of Pool, and the Canadian National Championships.
All of the players and tournament officials are available to the media for interviews and on-site photo and video work. You may contact Tournament Director Jim Wych to arrange for such interviews by calling him at 905-469-8303 or via email at jwych@cogeco.ca. All other media requests may be addressed to the Stan James Tour Press Officer, Jerry Forsyth. Mr. Forsyth is the Press Officer for most major WPA events, is the Tournament Editor for Pool & Billiard Magazine, and serves as co-commentator along with Mr. Wych for many of the major televised billiard events in the world as seen on ESPN, Fox Sports, Sky Sport, TSN and others. Jerry Forsyth may be reached at his office near Atlanta, Georgia, by telephone at 706-413-1405 or via email at photowriter@charter.net. Both men will, of course, be on-site for the entirety of the event in Kelowna.
