Duggan and Redmon Undefeated to the Finish

McDermott All-American Tour / Norfolk, VA

Flipper McCoy’s in Norfolk, VA, hosted the April 7 stop of the McDermott All-American Tour. Featuring a $500-added women’s division and a $1,500-added men’s event, this billiard event saw Jackie Redmon and Bill Duggan run undefeated to the finals, respectively.

Making his way through the winners’ bracket, Duggan outplayed Jay Hughes 5-3, while Dave Perry sent Dan Losh to the west side 5-1. When Duggan and Perry subsequently met in the hot seat match, Duggan was able to edge past his opponent 5-4. In the semifinals, Perry rebounded and ended Bill Mason’s run with a strong 5-0 victory but fell short in his rematch against Duggan, who won the finals in the first set by a 5-4 margin.

In the women’s division, Redmon also ran undefeated to the finals. She clipped Rachel Eliazar 3-2 in the hot seat match after earlier having outplayed Barbara Yeager 3-2, while Eliazar knocked off Mary Davis 3-2. In the quarterfinals, Becky Nelson took out Yeager 3-2, and Nelson continued her hot streak by eliminating Eliazar by a 3-1 margin. Nelson had to defeat Redmon two sets for the title, but the undefeated Redmon eased to the finish in the first set by a 3-0 margin.

April 14-15 will feature the $1,000-added 1st Annual Spring 8-Ball Shootout – a McDermott All-American Tour stop at the Blue Chalk Club in Middleton, WI (for onsite entry details contact Ron Dobosenski at 608-836-8588).
