In the bottom bracket, Williams went up against Dean McNaughton, winning 6-3. It was top male player versus top female player in the hot seat match, but Hjorliefson proved to be too strong as he defeated Williams 10-2, sending her to grind it out on the one-loss side.
On the west side of the chart, Mike Patrowicz bested Rob Brandenburg 7-7, going on to advance to the quarterfinals with a 7-2 victory over Tony Butera. But Patrowicz’s event stopped there, as Dean McNaughton sent him packing with a 6-5 win.
The west side final pitted Williams against McNaughton, with Williams coming out triumphant with a 6-4 win. The final race between Hjorleifson and Williams saw Williams take the first set to double-hill, where she was triumphant. After reloading, Williams came back and went one better with a second win by the score of 6-8 with carom executions worthy of a champion.
