ACS Presents The McDermott All American Tour Results from The Carom Room

The fifth stop of the 2005/2006 McDermott All American Tour (produced by the American CueSports Alliance – ACS) featured a $500-added purse and twenty-nine players hosted by owner David Coles at The Carom Room in Beloit, Wisconsin, on Saturday, December 3. The event featured double-elimination 9-ball on bar boxes, and Tim Horne of Beloit, Wisconsin sailed undefeated through the field. In the hot-seat match, Horne – rated a “5” on a regional handicap system used - clipped Rich Bideaux (Moline, IL), also a “5”, 5-4. In the loser’s bracket semis, Dave Knight [4] (Moline, IL) eliminated John Brannon [6] (Beloit, WI) 4-2. Knight then took advantage of Bideaux having to race to 5 to eliminate Bideaux 4-4 in the loser’s bracket finals. The title match ended Knight’s run, as Horne outpointed Dave Knight in the first set, 5-3, for the championship.

Dave Knight was the highest-finishing ACS member, qualifying him for a free entry into either the 2006 ACS National 8-Ball Championships or the 2006 ACS National 9-Ball Championships – courtesy of the ACS. The next Tour stop will be a one-day $500 added 8-Ball tournament at Cue Master Billiards in Dubuque, Iowa, on Saturday, December 17. For onsite entry details, call host Bill Kramer at 563/557-0875. Lassiters in Clinton, Iowa, is also gearing up to host a $5,000-added 8-Ball event on the weekend of Jan. 27-29, 2006, with both men’s and women’s divisions.
