Larry Nevel, winner of the Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour Championship last November, beat Hall-of-Famer Buddy Hall. Another HOF resident, Nick Varner, was defeated by Alex Pagulayan, runner-up in the U.S. Open last September. one of the best matches to watch, however, was the match between Grady "The Professor" Mathews and the infamous Keith McCready, in which Mathews ended up winning 3-1. As a side note to today's one-pocket action, Russian sensation Evgeny "The Assasin" Stalev walked through the tournament doors earlier this evening, causing a flutter in every present gambler's heart.
