2005 Scholars NamedBCA & BEF issue annual awardsColorado Springs, Colorado: The Billiard Congress of America (BCA) and the Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) have released the names of scholarship winners from the current review round, in three categories and funding levels. The winner of the $5,000 Excellence in Education award is Joshua Eriksen of Plainfield, Illinois, followed by $2,500 winner in the Artistic Pool category, Cory Ploessl of Deerfield, Wisconsin. Ploessl is also among the group of seven $1,000 scholarship winners selected. In his senior year at Plainfield South High School, Joshua Eriksen boasts a 5.01/5.0 cumulative GPA and has been accepted to Arizona State University, the University of Illinois and the University of St. Frances, with plans to study engineering. Cory Ploessl is another outstanding senior, with a cumulative 3.97/4.0 GPA at Deerfield High School. Over 200 applications were received from hopefuls across the country.
