ACS ANNOUNCES NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS Cecil Messer, President of the newly-formed American CueSports Alliance (ACS), has announced dates and locations for the 2004 ACS National 9-Ball Championships and 2005 ACS National 8-Ball Championships, both of which are to be conducted in Reno, Nevada. The Silver Legacy Hotel & Casino will host the inaugural ACS National 9-Ball Championships, November 9-14, 2004, and the Silver Legacy will co-host with the brand new downtown Reno Events Center the ACS National 8-Ball Championships, April 30 through May 7, 2005. The American CueSports Alliance will begin their physical operations on June 1, 2004, as a new national governing body and non-profit national league sanctioning body. Mr. Messer, in an address to over one hundred independent league operators at the Stardust Convention Center in Las Vegas on Tuesday, May 18, was pleased to note that the ACS formation board of directors, primarily composed of the elected Presidents of the various BCA state associations, had been working diligently behind the scenes to establish theses events in the few weeks since forming the association. Many former BCA-sanctioned leagues have committed to sanctioning with the new national non-profit association to ensure the success of these inaugural championships.
