Lucky 21 Goes to LouieMcDermott All-American Tour / Portland, ORby InsidePOOL StaffThe McDermott All-American Tour made a stop at Nite Hawk in Portland, OR, the weekend of April 21-23, hosting a $1,000-added event. Former professional Dan Louie of Mercer Island, WA, made an undefeated march through the winners’ bracket and didn’t stop until he took the title.Of the 33 players who came out for this event, the tour’s twenty-first, only a few were to return for Sunday’s action. Stan Tourangeau of Vancouver, BC, forged his way to the hot seat match against Louie, falling 9-6. Mike Zimmerman outpointed Jesse Allred in the quarterfinals 9-1, going on to meet Tourangeau in the semifinals. The momentum Zimmerman built up earlier held, and he defeated his opponent 9-6 to move on and challenge Louie. But Louie was still going strong, and he swept over Zimmerman like a wave 9-2 to claim the title.
By virtue of being the highest-finishing ACS member, Stan Tourangeau qualified for a free entry into the 2006 ACS National 8-Ball Championships – courtesy of the ACS.
