All-American Win for WilderMcDermott All-American Tour / Sterling, ILby InsidePOOL Staff Though Leisure Time in Sterling, IL, hosted the May 6 stop of the McDermott All-American Tour, there was no resting on his laurels for Chris Wilder. Out of a 38-player field all trying for the $500-added purse, Wilder came out on top to take first place.The double-elimination 8-ball event soon whittled to the final three, with Wilder dispatching local player Al Martin 3-1 in the winners’-bracket finals. Now in the one-loss side, Martin attempted to redeem himself but fell to Wayne Wright, who had just relegated Bob Shepard to fourth place. Going on to meet Wilder in the final match, Wright kept it close, but Wilder took advantage of his one-game handicap to attain the title by a 3-3 margin.
By virtue of being the highest-finishing ACS member, Wayne Wright qualified for a free entry into the 2006 ACS National 8-Ball Championships – courtesy of the ACS.
