Atwell Lights Up the Tables in TacomaBy InsidePOOL Staff Glenn Atwell lit up the field at City Lights Billiards on November 27-28 in Tacoma, WA. The third stop of the J. Pechauer Tour drew 75 top players, all of them competing for a top prize and an early start on the points chase. The first few rounds saw some of the top players get eliminated. Rich Geiler went out in two straight defeats to Tinsley Johnson and Matt Nelson, while Canada's John Horsfall and Dan Louie fell out after three matches. LeRoy Dorsey, who nabbed a fifth-place finish, broke out with wins over Brady Gollan, Mike Zimmerman, Mike Stevens ,and Alan Ima before checking out to Saud Alabdulrazaq in the late rounds on Sunday. Among the others who survived for the second day included Atwell and Raul Abenojar, both of who had convincing first-day wins. The two battled first in the hot seat match, and Atwell came out on top sending Abenojar to the one-loss side. Mike Vidas and Abenojar faced each other in the semifinals with the winner going on the to finals. It was close early, but Abenjar snuck by Vidas for the hill-hill win. Atwell and Abenojar put on a show in the finals. While they were both visibly tired, they still managed to keep up with one another in the race-to-13 finals. Abenojar fell behind in the late racks and never caught up, as Atwell earned a tough 13-11 victory.
