Colorado Springs, CO - The Billiard Congress of America (BCA) maintains high standards for all aspects of its tournaments, and the dress code is no exception. “We believe that establishing and enforcing a dress code adds to the prestige of the tournament, which is important in projecting a positive image of our sport,” says BCA Executive Director Stephen Ducoff.
The BCA Referee Committee recently updated the BCA dress code that is in place for the BCA National 8-Ball Championships and the BCA National 9-Ball Championships. “The dress code was updated in June of 2000,” reports Betty Harris, BCA League & Program Coordinator. “The committee has made further updates so that players have a better understanding of what is expected and so that the BCA referees can enforce the dress code fairly.” Below is the updated wording. The full dress code can be found on the BCA web site (www.bca-pool.com) in the Play/Tournaments/8-Ball section. If you have questions regarding the dress code, please contact the BCA at ref@bca-pool.com Singles Competition Shirts & Hats · Men must wear sleeved shirts of polo/golf style or button-down style with a conventional fold-over collar. · Women must wear sleeved shirts or blouses of polo/golf style or conventional style with a fold-over collar. · Absolutely no t-shirts allowed.
