Barouty Captures a Win and DivisionTri-State Tour / Billiards and Pool / New York, NYby Rick Davis, Inside POOL MagazineDanny Barouty came back from the one-loss side to claim his first top finish on the Tri-State Billiard Tour. The event was the tour’s fourth stop of the season and took place at Amsterdam Billiards and Bar in New York, NY, August 19-20, where 21 players entered the open event. Play quickly ran down to the top players, as the action in the Big Apple moved at breakneck speed. Noel Bensurto defeated Hee Sup Kim 9-6 in the hot seat match, while on the one-loss side, Barouty charged past Wali Muhammad 9-2 then moved on to face Kim, who had defeated him earlier on the winners’ side. Barouty took his revenge, eliminating Kim 9-3.
In the finals, a close match unfolded and the double-hill scale tipped towards Barouty as he shot a carom into a 3-9 combo during the last rack for the 9-8 win.
