Bauries Captures his First Top Finishby Rick DavisStroker’s Billiards in Palm Harbor, FL, hosted the Kings Bay Promotions Central Florida Tour July 9, where Matt Bauries emerged atop a 44-player field. This open, double-elimination event was the tour’s ninth stop, with many more planned throughout the year. The winners’ side clashed as Ritchie Orem faced Matt Bauries in the hot seat with Orem triumphing 7-4. Brian Davalos was nearly even against Julio del Poso in the quarterfinals until del Poso pulled away, winning double-hill. In the semis, Bauries faced del Poso, who now had won several matches to stay alive on the one-loss side, but Bauries was determined to face Orem again and skipped by 5-2.
