Bauries Takes First in Palm HarborKBP Central Florida Amateur 9-Ball Tour / Palm Harbor, FLby Kay Higgins  Players from all over Florida showed up to participate in the ninth stop of the Kings Bay Promotions Central Florida Amateur 9-Ball Tour July 9. Matt Bauries showed his skill as he emerged victorious over the 44-player field. Bauries has participated in several other events, but this is his first top finish of the season. Richie Orem worked his way in the top half of the bracket to face Bauries, winning the King of the Hill spot with a 7-4 win. In the quarterfinal match, Brian Davalos and Julio Delpozo showed that they were even in playing ability until Delpozo pulled ahead and took the double-hill victory. Delpozo went on the semifinal match to face Bauries, and with skill and determination, Bauries left Delpozo in third place 5-2.
The final race to 9 saw the score remain even for the first four racks. At that point, Bauries pulled ahead and kept the lead for the next two games, bringing the score 8-4. Orem then took the next game, looking for a comeback, but Bauries had the next break and finished off the match by making the 9 on the break to win 9-5.
