Behnke Brothers Clean Up
Viking Cue Junior 9-Ball Tour / Galesburg, IL

Capping off a full weekend of billiard events, the Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour held two divisions of juniors’ competition March 11 at Billiards On Main in Galesburg, IL. Brothers Adam and Chad Behnke made it a family affair, going undefeated in the 19-and-under and 14-and-under divisions, respectively.
In the 14-and-under division Behnke shut out Billy Thorpe 4-0 in the hot seat match. On the one-loss side Lucas Cason shut out Nick Hammerl before meeting a well-prepared Thorpe. After going double-hill Thorpe managed to come through for another change at Behnke in the finals. Offering more competition than in the first encounter, Thorpe kept pace until double-hill, where Behnke took over to win the event.
Over in the 19-and-under division, Chad’s older brother, Adam, also found his way to the hot seat, where he defeated his opponent as well, sending Alex Walker west from the 4-2 defeat. On the one-loss side Tyler Wright slipped past Jeff Berger 4-3 in the quarterfinals but was then stomped 4-0 by Walker in the semifinals. Walker brought his best game back to face Behnke again, but the same exact result was seen, with Behnke taking the match 4-2 to clear the division.
