Berrone Bags a Viking Tour Billiard Stopby Rick DavisThe Viking Tour pulled into Brass Rail Billiards in Athens, GA, for their latest $1000 added open 9-ball event on December 17. It was difficult for anyone to fight through the field although Bruce Berrone managed a short yet remarkable comeback.Fighting it out in the hot seat match were Berrone and Adam Pendley, a 15-year old junior player. Pendley swept past Berrone 9-5 to reach the finals while Berrone headed west.
On the one-loss side Paul Song matched up against Marcus Pendley, another great junior player at 17-years old and also Adam’s brother, although Song had little problem advancing 9-5. In the semifinals it was Song and Berrone. Song quickly reached an 8-4 lead until a dry break allowed Berrone to bring the set double-hill. Then another error by Song, a missed 2 ball this time, allowed Berrone to claim the set and advance to the finals.Berrone was ready for the waiting Pendley brother and kept control of the two set match from the beginning, taking the win 9-5 and 9-4. A combination of good opportunities and strong play sealed the deal for Berrone. The players and staff at The Viking Tour would like to thank Break N Run Sportswear for their continued support.Results:1st Bruce Berrone2nd Adam Pendley3rd Paul Song4th Marcus Pendley5th Eddie LittleMike Janis7th Leil GayDavid Shaden
