Billiard Congress of America Announces Team for 2003 Junior World Championships The European Pocket Billiard Federation (EPBF) will host the 2003 WPA Junior World Championships in Willingen, Germany. Thirty-two players from across the world will compete November 19-22, 2003. With the World Championships taking place in the last quarter of the year, the BCA has elected to send both 2002 and 2003 Junior National winners to this event. The athletes selected to represent the United States must win the BCA Junior National 9-Ball Championships in their respective divisions. Competition at the World Championships is a race to 9 with all 32 competitors in one division. The Billiard Congress of America (BCA) is pleased to announce the following athletes selected to the 2003 team, representing the United States of America: Justin Bergman (15) Fairview Heights, IL - 2003 18 & Under National ChampionEleanor Callado (18) Daly City, CA - 2002-2003 18 & Under Girls National ChampionJoey Grey (16) Bethany, OK - 2002 18 & Under Runner-upJustin Hall (15) Hamel, IL - 2002 14 & Under National ChampionDaniel Rakin (14) Daly City, CA - 2003 14 & Under National ChampionBeau Runningen (19) West St. Paul, MN - 2002 18 & Under National ChampionTyler Strawn (16) Broken Arrow, OK - 2003 18 & Under Runner-up Two spots have also been appointed to Canada, along with seven USA spots, completing the 9-member team representing North America. Tyler Strawn will be the only member selected to have previous appearances at the World Championships. In 2002, Strawn brought back a third place finish, behind fellow teammate Shane McMinn who finished in 2nd place. The 2002 team faired the highest in the eleven years of participation. In 2001, Strawn finished 9-17th out of a field of 32 players, with McMinn also displaying worthy talent finishing 5-8th. The BCA is expecting great efforts from the 2003 team.
