Brian White Wins North Carolina Viking Eventby InsidePOOL StaffViking's latest event, held at Randolph's Billiards in Hickory, NC, on April 5-6, was won by Brian White, who defeated Randy Burris by the resounding score of 7-0.Room owner Randy Kanipe has a wonderful pool hall, with an authentic "pool room atmosphere" to it, serving its clients excellent homemade food. Bobby Reinhard was the winner of the cue raffle, laying claim to a $400-500 Viking cue stick.In a highlighted match in the one-loss side of the bracket, Brian Capps went up against BJ Ushery and lost in the hill-hill match, while the crowd of spectators watched and cheered for their favorites. A 12-year-old aspiring pool player was in action all weekend as well, going up against some of the better Viking Tour players and beating the odds. According to the tournament director, "He plays pretty sporty."
White defeated Hoeppner 7-3 in the hot seat match. In fact, no one was able to get past four games against White the entire length of the tournament. White then waited for the winner of the Burris/Hoeppner match. With Burris defeating Hoeppner, White, a native of Spartansburgh, SC, found himself facing Burris, defeating him soundly 7-0. Interestingly, this is Burris' second consecutive second-place finish on the Viking Tour.The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour will have their next two events simultaneously next weekend. one event will take place at Quintin Corner Pocket in Palitine, IL, and the other event will be at Gametime/Riptide in Greenville, SC.
