Brunswick Pro Players Championship Narrowed to Final FourBy InsidePOOL StaffThe final four players remaining will return on Sunday morning to the 2005 Brunswick Pro Players Championship event, being held at the 13th Annual Super Billiards Expo in Valley Forge, PA. The show began on Thursday, March 17, and will conclude on Sunday, wrapping up four days of amateur, pro, league, and artistic pool events. After his victory at the North American Open Tour last month, Shawn Putnam stuck to his winning ways with victories over Troy Frank, Jeremy Jones, and Joey Korsiak to arrive in tomorrow’s hot seat match. His opponent will be Italian Fabio Petroni, who logged wins over Tony Crosby, Dennis Hatch, and U.S. Open champion Gabe Owen.
An early loss to Jones sent Charlie “Hillbilly” Bryant to the one-loss side, where he defeated Danny Basavich, Hatch, Robb Saez, and then met Korsiak in the match for fifth place. Though Korsiak had an early lead of three games, when put on the shot clock, the momentum changed, and Bryant was able to pull ahead with an ultimate 10-8 victory. He face Jones again in the quarterfinal match on Sunday.Visit InsidePOOL for the latest news on the Super Billiards Expo.
