Bustamante Only Undefeated Billiards PlayerKarl Boyes was finally toppled from his pedestal when Jose Parica delivered an 8-1 defeat to him, but Francisco is 16-0 for the event, having just won 8-1 over Tony “The Tornado” Drago. His next match will be at 5:30 p.m. against Marko Lohtander of Finland.Germany’s Ralf Souquet remains the only undefeated player in his group, and fellow countryman Oliver Ortmann is tied with Bustamante with three wins in their group. Also, Thomas “The Lean Machine” Engert, a qualifier, is undefeated as yet for the day and just won 8-5 over France’s Yannick Beaufils. Taiwan’s Hui-Kai Hsia defeated Nick Varner 8-3 for his second win of the day. IPT World Open 8-Ball Championship ForumsVisit the IPT World Open 8-Ball Championship Image GalleryIPT qualification event winner David Alcaide of Spain, a former BCA and VNEA Master 8-Ball champion, registered his third win of the day, remaining unscatched during today’s matches. He dealt Niels Feijen of The Netherlands a stunning 8-2 defeat.
Mick Hill is back to the winning ways, notching an 8-1 thumping over Australia’s Quinten Hann. He’ll play best mate Darren Appleton next, who just went double-hill with Jason “Dark Horse” Kirkwood and won.“I was devastated after losing my first match to Quentin Hann. I was five-four up, then he floated the black out of a snooker, that made it five all, then at six all I’ve got a really simple close—I just got to pot the ball in the middle, but it got a big kick and stopped the ball from going in. Then he broke and ran, so I lost eight-six. My next match I didn’t do a lot wrong and lost eight-three to David Alcaide—he played great. The last match there I was seven-five down, he came up dry and I ran the match out.“I started off well—the first two days and the last couple I didn’t play too good … and I’m hoping it’s gonna get better as the day goes, but I have to wait and see … I’m not the fittest bloke in the world, but I’m young, like, and pretty healthy, so it shouldn’t be a problem.”Danny Harriman won his first match of the day, meeting and defeating Lohtander 8-3. “My nerves were charged there a little bit,” he commented. “I think that guy is a good player, he just made some errors I don’t think he would normally make. I was playing pretty good. I broke the balls a couple times real good and didn’t make a ball. He was having trouble with his break also, so that table is breaking really tough.”“Some of these guys I’ve never played before and it’s surprising. There are a lot of new faces. I ve been around the pro circuit for fifteen years, but there are a lot of new faces, a lot of foreigners I have never played.”When asked about the format, he said, “I like it, it favors me. I don’t like to just play one match. I don’t play golf or do all that stuff, I just play pool. I like to play match after match—I could play ten or twelve hours a day, and it wouldn’t bother me … I run, I used to run marathons and stuff.”Quick LinksPlayer StatsPrize Money Breakdown Round 4 GROUP 76D.
