Corr in Command

The Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour traveled to Raxx Pool Room in West Hempstead, NY, where WPBA pro Karen Corr graced everyone with her presence as she swept the field to take the event undefeated.
Fighting through the double-elimination action, it was Corr and tournament director Mike Zuglan who crushed the 32-player field in order to reach the hot seat match, where Corr defeated Zuglan 9-6. On the one-loss side the quarterfinals were in full swing as Shin Park dominated and eliminated Robert Pole 9-4, but then it was Park who was eliminated in the semifinals as Zuglan sent him home after a 9-7 defeat.
The finals offered a great rematch between the two players, who quickly reach 4-all on the score sheet. Then Corr took some initiative to fly to the hill 8-4, although Zuglan was not out yet as he answered Corr’s run to tie the set double-hill. With a dry break Zuglan knew he was in trouble, and before long Corr had taken the set and the event win.
