Play by Play coverage
The players lag for the break and Corr wins. Game 1, Set 1 Corr breaks and makes the 8-ball. She is perfectly set up for the 1-ball. Corr makes the 1 and 2 and zips back for position o­n the 3-ball. She makes the next two balls as well and narrowly misses scratching in the side pocket. After she makes the 6-ball, she knocks the 9-ball into the corner pocket o­n accident. Because the tournament is call the 9-ball, it is spotted. She then continues, making the 7-ball and then the 9-ball in succession. 1-0 Corr. Game 2, Set 1 Because of the alternating-break rule, Thornfeldt breaks next. She makes the 6-ball. She makes the 1-ball and the 2-ball and makes a difficult shot o­n the 3-ball in the side. She continues her run until she misses the 8-ball in the corner, leaving Corr two balls o­n the table. Corr makes a nice cross-bank o­n the 8-ball and then the 9-ball. 2-0 Corr. Game 3, Set 1 Corr breaks and makes the 7-ball. She then misses a tough rail shot o­n the 1-ball, leaving it tough for Thornfeldt. Thornfeldt plays safe behind a cluster of balls. Corr then plays a two-rail kick and hits the 1-ball but leaves it wide open for Thornfeldt. After making the 2-ball, she is forced to play safe o­n the 3-ball. Corr misses, giving Thornfeldt ball-in-hand. Thornfeldt makes the 3-ball but misses the 4-ball, leaving a tough 4-8 combo for Corr, which she makes. She then plays a long-rail shot o­n the 5-ball, a long cut o­n the 6-ball, and a simple cut o­n the 9-ball. 3-0 Corr. Game 4, Set 1 Thornfeldt breaks and makes the 3-ball and the 7-ball. She then misses the 1-ball and leaves a 1-9 combo for Corr, which she then makes. 4-0 Corr. Game 5, Set 1 Corr breaks and makes the 5-ball. She then plays a tough kick shot o­n the 1-ball in the corner but misses, leaving it hanging in the pocket. Thornfeldt easily makes the 1-ball and then the next two but gets out of line for the 4-ball. She uses her extension and then makes it into the corner pocket. She makes the 6-ball into the side and knocks open the 8-9 cluster but is forced to play a difficult cut in the side o­n the 8-ball, which she makes for position o­n the 9-ball. 4-1 Corr. Game 6, Set 1 Thornfeldt breaks and makes the 1-ball and the 5-ball. She plays a cut o­n the 2-ball but gets out of line for the 3-ball. She tries to make the 3-ball in the side but it hangs there for Corr, who makes it easily and then the table is wide open. Corr continues to pocket the balls and gets out to win the first set 5-1. Game 1, Set 2 Thornfeldt breaks and hangs the 4-ball in the jaws but does not make anything. Corr plays a safe o­n the 1-ball, and Thornfeldt misses the 1-ball, giving Corr ball-in-hand. Corr makes the next three balls in a row and pulls out the bridge for the 4-ball, which she makes. She then is in perfect position to run the next five balls. 1-0 Corr. Game 2, Set 2 Corr breaks but does not make anything. Thornfeldt makes the 1-ball but hooks herself behind the 9-ball for the 2-ball and is forced to kick at it. She hits it and leaves it behind the 3-ball for Corr, who hits it and leaves it o­n the bottom rail. Thornfeldt tries to plays safe, but Corr makes the 2-ball into the corner. Corr is hooked o­n the 3-ball and plays a kick shot, which she misses and gives Thornfeldt ball-in-hand. Thornfeldt makes the next balls easily, get a bit out of line o­n the 8-ball but makes it and barely avoids the scratch in the side, and then makes the 9-ball in the corner to tie the score at 1-all. Game 3, Set 2 Thornfeldt breaks and makes the 1-ball, 7-ball, and 8-ball but scratches. Corr is left with o­nly six balls o­n the table, including a cluster consisting of the 4-ball, 6-ball, and 9-ball, which she breaks up effectively to bring the score to 2-1 Corr. Game 4, Set 2 Corr breaks and does not make anything. However, the 1-ball is safe. Thornfeldt pushes out, and Corr then plays safe. Thornfeldt misses the 1-ball, giving Corr ball-in-hand. Corr plays the 1-ball in the side but misses position because the cue hits the side pocket and bounces back. Corr then hits the 5-9 cluster and breaks it up, giving Thornfeldt ball-in-hand o­n the 2-ball. Thornfeldt misses the 2-ball and Corr plays a beautiful long draw shot for position o­n the 3-ball o­n the opposite rail. She then gets a bit off o­n the 4-ball and plays safe behind the 9-ball. Thornfeldt plays a two-rail kick shot but misses, giving Corr ball-in-hand. Corr has no problems making the remaining six balls and gets the score to 3-1 Corr. Game 5, Set 2 Thornfeldt breaks and 1-ball, 4-ball, and 9-ball, which was then spotted. She then plays safe o­n the 2-ball. Corr returns the favor but doesn't get as safe as she wants, leaving an open shot for Thornfeldt, which she makes. Thornfeldt then makes the 3-ball but misses the 5-ball. Corr makes a sporty long cut shot o­n the 5-ball but is left tough for the 6-ball and misses it. Thornfeldt makes the 6-ball and shoots the 8-ball in the corner, but it bobbles, and she scratches. Corr, with ball-in-hand and two balls left o­n the table, easily gets out. 4-1 Corr. Game 6, Set 2 Corr breaks but does not make a ball. Thornfeldt makes the 1-ball and 2-ball easily and plays a nice force-follow o­n the 3-ball for position o­n the 4-ball, which shes makes. The remaining balls are sitting in front of their pockets, allowing Thornfeldt to wrest the score to 4-2 Corr. Game 7, Set 2 Thornfeldt breaks and makes the 1-ball. She makes the 2-ball but tries for a long cut shot o­n the 3-ball and leaves it in the jaws. Corr makes the next two balls and then plays a tough cut o­n the 5-ball, which she makes. From there, she makes the remaining four balls easily to win the set 5-2 and the match 2-0.
