A field of 32 players showed up at the $1,000-added event to vie for the top prize of $620.The Veterans Open 9-Ball Classic was hosted by Veterans Billiards of Port Charlotte, which is located on the west coast of Florida. It is a well-run family establishment owned by Jerry Romich, a native of Honedale, PA. Transplanted to the Sunshine State a dozen years ago, Jerry has been the proprietor of Veterans for 6 years.With the final match a thrilling single race to 11, Crosby worked his way through the one-loss side to meet tour director Tommy Kennedy in the finals.
