Day 6 of IBSF World Snooker Team ChampionshipPool, Billiards and Snooker Reports - IBSF ReleaseIn IBSF World Snooker Team Championship action Tuesday, all three American teams suffered big losses. Team A lost to China Hong Kong 7-2, Isle of Man kicked some American B team butt with a score of 5-4, while USA C got tied up by the Thais, losing every frame. Meanwhile, some other victories were as expected. We saw Australia kill poor little Japan (gosh, they’re sweet boys, even if only one of them speaks English) 7-2 and Ireland win 5-4 v. New Zealand in an exciting Seniors’ match this evening. In the morning, an exciting match between England and India A has taken place.
The USA A v China Hong Kong brought a lot of people to tonight’s matches, and even without that crowd, word seems to be spreading and people are starting to show up earlier. Repeat customers who don’t mind paying 5 bucks for a full day’s worth of snooker come as well. I think by the time the semifinals and finals roll around, the house will be packed. How exciting! I mean, really!Just in case you were looking for my report yesterday, I made none. The guys had no matches so they could relax or go to San Francisco for the day, which most of them did. Popular places visited were Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Wharf and, sadly, Hooters. Ahh. Seeing the best of America!I had a relaxing day and finally did what I’ve been dying to do all week, which is play a little snooker with my new cue. In fact, I had a few good matches and one of which I will never speak again. Talking and writing about and seeing loads of it surely made me hungry for playing the sport, and I surely did enough of it at Shoreline Billiards in Mountain View to last this whole week…. I hope!ABOUT THE 2006IBSF WORLD SNOOKER TEAM CUP CHAMPIONSHIPS:The DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose hosts to this international snooker competition, whose competition began today.
