Final 32 in Winners’ Bracket to Play Thursday EveningBy InsidePOOL StaffSome surprises from Wednesday’s matches have led up to some interesting match-ups for Thursday evening’s round in the winners’ bracket. Tyler Edey of Canada sent Earl Strickland packing last night after Strickland conceded the last rack, giving Edey the 11-9 victory. Edye will face another Canadian, “Machine Gun” Luc Salvas, at 9 p.m. California’s John Schmidt suffered a defeat by Troy Frank last night 11-5, and Frank will match up with “Rocket” Rodney Morris later tonight. Niels Feijen won his match against Chicago’s Marco Marquez 11-8 and goes on to face Jeremy Jones’ nemesis Chris Loar. Charles “Hillbilly” Bryant suffered his first defeat last night to Finland’s Mika Immonen, who will meet Bobby Pickle of Nashville, TN, tonight. The biggest surprise of last night’s matches was the defeat of Alex Pagulayan by Nicholas Guimond, who will face Italy’s Fabio Petroni in the winners’ bracket. A meeting of the Southern gentlemen is in store as well when Buddy “The Rifleman” Hall matches up with Shannon “The Cannon” Daulton.
Santos Sambajon Jr. was eliminated earlier today by Bob Maidhof, and Scott Frost was eliminated after his forfeit yesterday afternoon. However, Pooky Rasmeloungon is still going strong in the one-loss side and will play Tony Chohan this evening. Danny “Kid Delicious” Basavich, sent to the “B” side last night by Donnie Mills, is scheduled to play the Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour’s top player, Shawn “The Love Sponge” Putnam tonight. The ring game that was scheduled for this evening was canceled, but in its place will be two feature match-ups on the television table. Johnny “The Scorpion” Archer will play Jose Parica at 7 p.m., and Visit InsidePOOL for the latest news in the sport of billiards and pool.
