Leading the pack from last night’s winners’ bracket matches are Francisco Bustamante, Thorsten Hohmann, Mika Immonen, and Gabe Owen, who will play in the 7 p.m. round. In the one-loss side, Niels Feijen of Holland is crushing everyone in his path, with great wins over former champion Earl Strickland 11-8 and a lengthy hill-hill battle with Ronnie “Everything’s Funny When You’re Winning Big Money” Wiseman, who previously defeated Tony Robles in another hill-hill match. Feijen will face the loser of the match between Bustamante and Hohmann at 10 p.m. Saturday.
Germany’s Ralf Souquet, a former U.S. Open champion, defeated Efren “Bata” Reyes in a hill-hill thriller only to meet Corey Deuel on the television table and suffer a stunning 11-1 loss. Deuel went on to meet Q Master Billiards house pro Dave Bollman and send him packing with an 11-6 defeat.
