Fisher Remains Hot With Another Tour Victory By Bill RosenbergerNot only did Kelly Fisher go undefeated in her victory at the Pool Room in Marietta, GA, on September 19, but she also qualified for the WPBA’s Canadian Open in October.  She ousted Kim Whitman in the final, 9-3, after cruising through a determined field of southeastern ladies. After her victory, Fisher said she wanted to compete because of the Canadian Open.  “I entered so I could try to qualify for the Open,” she said.  “I played really well against some of the tour’s top ladies.”  Fisher, a snooker player from England, has been one of the hottest tour players as of late, capturing the 2004 Maryland State 9-Ball Championship in August.Mike Blomgren, who was hosting his first tournament on the SEAL Tour, described the event as a success and is really high on the quality of the tour.  “We’ve had two girls go pro in the last six months, so I’d say we’re producing some top players,” Blomgren commented, “and Hines is probably the next one who will go pro.”  He added that the Pool Room was “one of the best places I’ve ever seen on a tour stop.”Whitman faced Dolores Glymp and Tracie Hines in two tough matches on her way to the finals and was victorious in both by 7-4.  Fisher made her way to the final by besting future pro Tracie Hines, the winner of three previous tour stops, 7-2 in the hot seat match.  Fisher, InsidePOOL Magazine’s October Regional Player of the Month, kept things even with Whitman from the gate, but she pulled away in the homestretch to take a final 7-4 victory.
