Florida Pro Regulars in ControlSeminole Florida Pro Tourby Rick DavisThe Seminole Florida Pro Tour swung into Hollywood Billiards in Hollywood, FL, over the November 11 weekend where a 58-player field emerged for the double-elimination 10-ball event.Action on Saturday was fierce, as only the top 16 returned for play on Sunday. Tournament director John DiToro took a rough loss from Dave Grossman to be eliminated from play late Saturday. Also, just missing day two action was Jerry Slivka, who was shown the door after a double-hill defeat by Chris Bartram.
B.J. Ussery, who had dominated early in the season, was drilled by Rodney Morris 7-0, then was eliminated by Dave Broxson double-hill. Other previous event winners, Dennis Hatch and Steve Moore, met up late Saturday and the double-hill win by Hatch kept him safe on the winners’ side while Moore traveled west.Sunday has feature matches everywhere you look. Earl Strickland meets tour regular Neil Fujiwara, while Morris faces Donnie Mills. Also, on the winners’ side Derek Leonard faces Hatch and Joey Bonds matches up with Will Billbrey, the winner of the last tour stop. On the one-loss side Moore and Grossman meet, as do Richard Broumpton and Bartram. Brian Davalos faces Tony Roberto and Jason Klatt meets Broxson.
