Taking place November 25-26, the tournament brought a new format that stretched the races to 7 on both sides for the first day and to 9 on the second day.
After blazing through the early rounds the top eight emerged Sunday afternoon. On the winners’ side, Foster faced Jim Sandaler, while Jose Del Rio went up against Bruce Choyce. Still alive on the one-loss side were Brian Davalos, who matched up with Tim Daniel and Travis Moore, who met Jason Richko. Foster slowly built his lead on the winners’ side, and before long he had defeated Sandaler 9-6, while Del Rio, the room owner, brought his match to a double-hill climax before slipping by for the 9-8 win. Action on the one-loss side started with a surprise as Daniel, the points leader and multi-time event winner, was taken out 9-5 by Davalos. Nearby, tour regular Richko destroyed Moore 9-4. Both Davalos and Richko kept control of the west side of the board as Davalos eliminated Choyce 9-7 and Richko knocked out Sandaler 9-8.Down to the top four, Davalos was on a roll as he eliminated Richko 9-5 in the quarterfinals. Playing for the hot seat, Foster defeated Del Rio by the familiar 9-5 score. Eager to have a rematch, Del Rio briefly stopped by the one-loss side to hand Davalos a 9-3 defeat in the semifinals.With an extended race to 11 the finals looked to be a grinder at first; however, Foster soon took control and cleaned up the match with an 11-5 finish to claim first place.
