Ismael “Morro” Paez won a close match against Dallas West 8-6. Road player Gary Abood narrowly missed a win over Dennis Orcollo in their double-hill match, while Mika “Iceman” Immonen dealt a tough 8-6 loss to Charlie “Hillbilly” Bryant.
Allison Fisher pulled out a win over Andrea Klasovic 8-3, and another Brit, Sarah Ellerby, came out ahead in her game with Tuan Kiat Goh 8-5. Japan’s Miyuki Sakai also won her match against Mike Gulyassy 8-6, but that seems to be all the wins for the ladies in the fourth round. Ewa Laurance fell prey to 13-year-old Austin Murphy 8-5, Kelly Fisher lost a hill-hill battle to Wayne Catledge, and Lee Heuwagen overcame Karen Corr 8-6. Robin Dodson and Helena Thornfeldt were defeated 8-5 by Dee Adkins and Billy Incardona, respectively, and Loree Jon Jones fell 8-2 to table mechanic Ernesto Dominguez.The last round will begin at 8:00 p.m., and this will be the factor for many players that determines whether they will stay or go, so this round is fraught with tension for many.
