Fujairah Tournament Begins The festivities have begun in Fujairah! The World Classic Billiards event kicked off last night with local youth dancers and choirs interspersed with music provided by a military band. With His Highness Shaikh Saleh Bin Muhammad Al Sharqi in attendance along with  WPA President Ian Anderson of Australia, the finest cue masters in the world took center stage.After the opening procession of participating countries, Efren Reyes commanded everyones attention with a display of his trick shots. Efren displayed his mastery of masse (curve) shots and even had the balls backing up and jumping over other balls. Then six-time World Champion Earl Strickland had his turn and made shot after shot while sending the cue ball around the table and off the rails to sink as many as eight balls in a single shot. Finally, Fabio Petroni of Italy entertained the crowds with his comedy routine of trick shots that even saw the balls coming off the table and returned by his football-style footwork to sink still more balls.
His Highness and Mr. Anderson officially opened the competition with an honorary break shot and as a cap to the evening Efren Reyes and Earl Strickland entertained by playing o­ne another a few racks of non-competitive nine ball.On Wednesday night the true competition begins.
