Green Takes Second Billiards WinBlaze 9-Ball Tour / Parsippany, NJby Rick DavisDanny Green made his mark once again on the Blaze 9-Ball Tour, besting the 34-player field to claim to his second tour win. The tour’s twenty-sixth stop took place at Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ, October 15, where many of tour’s top players arrived in force.Quickly reaching the hot seat match, Green, who won the tour’s first stop back in February, took on the winner of last week’s stop, Oscar Bonilla. Bonilla slipped past Green double-hill and looked like he would be unstoppable two weeks in a row.
The one-loss side action chipped away as Liz Ford eliminated Eddie Abraham 7-3 then fell to Scott Freeman 7-1. On the other end of the chart, Mike Miller eliminated Bob Guerra double-hill before waving good night from his 7-3 defeat by Marty Lawson. Lawson caught a gear and quickly eliminated Freeman 7-1, although he fell just as quickly to Green, who knocked him out after a 7-2 defeat. Green went on to face Bonilla and, likening his play from the last round, brought the same score to Bonilla, taking the match 7-2. Overall the event had tough action, as six of the top eight players had seen the top three in a previous event, while four of those six had taken a first-place finish. With only a handful of events remaining players, are definitely coming out of the woodwork to pull in some extra tour points.Results:1st Danny Green2nd Oscar Bonilla3rd Marty Lawson4th Scott Freeman5th Mike MillerLiz Ford7th Bob GuerraEddie Abraham
