Hallett Makes a ComebackViking Cue 9-Ball Tour / Toledo, OHby Rick DavisBrandon Hallett bested the field of 47 billiards players, coming back from the one-loss side to take top honors at the latest Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour stop. Taking place at Davey K’s Joint in Toledo, OH, the double-elimination event brought in tons of action throughout the November 11 weekend.Quickly appearing in the hot seat match were Adam Smith and Mark Beilfuss, and before long only Smith remained, as he defeated Beilfuss 9-5. On the one-loss side Hallett had been working on his comeback. A double-hill victory over Danny Wardrob brought him to the semifinals, where another double-hill win over Beilfuss got him to the final match.
The finals offered a true double-elimination format, and after Hallett took the first set 9-8, a final race to 7 decided the winner. The match initially tipped back and forth, but Hallett soon took the lead and extended it for the 7-4 win to claim first place.Throughout the weekend, action appeared in droves as many players stayed overnight in the poolroom, which did not close. At least one player forfeited his final match, electing to stay in the side action. Davey K’s made everyone comfortable and welcome, and all were eager to go back for another event.Results:1st Brandon Hallett2nd Adam Smith3rd Mark Beilfuss4th Danny Wardrob5th Shawn PutnamRyan Stone7th Justin HallDanny Barnes9th Shane LykinsShawn MillerRyan WardCraig McParklin
