Hill Climbs High in Arizona State All-Around Tourby Matthew Pingor San Antonio, TX - Doug Hill rose to triumph over a field of 49 players February 11-12. The Arizona State All-Around Tour is what brought out such a field to compete over a $4,850 purse at the Northern Lounge of Phoenix, AZ. Hill clinched the envy-encrusted hot seat when he defeated Justin Whitehead. This match was close, but the tension could not prevent Hill from securing the win 9-7. In the quarterfinals, Glenn Bond, who recently placed first on the McDermott All American Tour, was coming out of a deep and dark forest of players that constantly place in the money. His impetus came on like lightning as he hacked up John Morton 7-4.
Bond then aimed his efforts at Whitehead. He was careful and secured his opportunities, for Whitehead wanted another shot at Hill. Ready to move on, Bond won the match 7-6. In the finals, Bond and Hill went all out. They took this match through 20 rough games before Hill decided to end the match. That was a decision he could make as Bond became exhausted, allowing Hill to win the final game for an 11-9 win.Results:1st Doug Hill2nd Glenn Bond3rd Justin Whitehead4th John Morton5th Mike PancoffJose Gonzolez7th Tony ConfaloneJimmy Mendoza9th Tet GrashSteve MurrayRandy PeltonChris AdamsVisit Inside POOL Magazine for the latest news from the Arizona State All-Around Tour.
