Joseph Pechauer to Head J. Pechauer Custom CuesJerry Pechauer, founder of J. Pechauer Custom Cues, Inc. DBA Custom Cues and Quality Billiards, is proud to announce the appointment of his son, Joseph J. Pechauer, to be his successor as president of the company. Jerry began his career repairing cues in 1963 as a hobby. Joe grew up admiring his father’s work and in 1975 he made his first cue. In that same year, J.P. Custom Cues was born. In 1980 Jerry took his hobby one step further and made it into a full-time business, opening Custom Cues and Quality Billiards on Adams Street. There, with the help of his son Joe, he displayed and sold pool tables and pool cues while developing a name nationwide as a celebrated custom cue maker.
In 1983 the business moved to Cedar Street and in 1994 the company was moved to its current state of the art facility at 4140 Velp Avenue in the Howard industrial park. Then, in 2002 Joe developed and oversaw the creation of a pool table line that is manufactured and sold locally. Jerry explains, “Joe has played an important role in the growth and success of Custom Cues and Quality Billiards and J.Pechauer Custom Cues for nearly 30 years. He’s basically been responsible for taking us into the new millennium with technology that has helped us gain a reputation for very high quality while maintaining competitive pricing.”
