Kang Victorious in Virginia Falcon Eventby InsidePOOL StaffOut of an exceptionally tough field of 67 players, Amar Kang has emerged victorious at the Falcon Cue 9-Ball Tour's stop this weekend. Held at Fast Eddie's in Alexandra, VA, the event saw their two top points leaders, Kang and Keith McCready, battle it out in the finals for first place. One of the best rooms in the Virginia area, Fast Eddie's was pleased to host the event, which took place on 19 of their Brunswick Gold Crowns. Kang defeated Vytas MacGinnis, Kevin West, Andy Lincoln, Alvin Thomas, and Joe Cataldi before winning the hot seat match against Chris Loar 9-5. McCready was defeated by Loar earlier in the event on the winners' side of the brackets, but then worked his way through the one-loss side, winning against fine players such as Alvin Thomas and Nick Mennino before exacting his revenge on Loar.
Interestingly, two Falcon events ago it was Kang versus McCready, with McCready coming out on top. This was a grudge match, and in the true double-elimination finals, McCready won the first set convincingly by the score of 9-4. After this humbling defeat, Kang came back with a vengeance in the second set, buckling down and focusing on the win. He never gave McCready much of a chance, and ultimately won the second set to take first place by the score of 9-2. 1st - Amar Kang $1,1002nd - Keith McCready $7003rd - Chris Loar $4504th - Nick Mennino $3005th/6th - Joe Cataldi, Alvin Thomas $2107th/8th - Don Steele, Ryan McCreesh $1359th/12th - Bill Elliot, Danny Bell, Jim McAdams, Shane Moore $95
