Kiamco and Breedlove Newest on the IPTWarren Kiamco of the Philippines and George Breedlove of Indianapolis, IN, became the newest members of the International Pool Tour this weekend at Country Club USA in Chelmsford, MA.Only eight players returned this morning, with four in each bracket. In the winners’ bracket, Kiamco bested Furuta Kazao 10-2 and then went on to the winners’-bracket finals against Breedlove, who won his earlier match against Antonio Lining 10-8. Kiamco had the better of this match, and though he made a couple of “tsk” sounds, he only made one mistake, though he was troubled with empty breaks. Breedlove made a couple more errors, and Kiamco was able to win the match 10-8.“I’m feeling good. I’m still shaking,” Kiamco admitted afterward. “I break maybe five times and didn’t make a ball. When I made that last ball, that was a lucky break. I made a lucky combination.”In the one-loss side, Robb Saez ran six racks against Ramil Gallego to win the match 10-2 and going on to play Karl Boyes, who won his match against Gary Abood 10-6. That was a long match, but ultimately Boyes came out ahead 10-7, going on to the one-loss side finals for the other IPT card.Visit the IPT Qualifier D Image Gallery
It was the most intense final match yet seen at the qualification events. Boyes held a two-game lead, but Breedlove caught up and then surpassed the Brit. Many of the breaks were coming up empty for both, and there were several errors, but the intensity level was incredible.After being tied at 5 apiece, Boyes pulled ahead by three games, but Breedlove again fought back and won the next four racks to take the hill with Boyes trailing one game. Breedlove took his time on his last break, and though it looked as though nothing was going to drop, the 11 ball fell, and he cleared the table to win the match 10-8.
